Mont 9-12 Art

My students making dream catchers with a paper plate and geometric patterning.
They are learning about Native American art.

Homework

This is how we record the work that needs to be finished.  How do you record yours?

Grade 1 Art

Every now and then I visit my friend,  Mrs Greyvenstein, in the Art room.  There's always something wonderful to see. There were inspired by THE ENORMOUS CROCODILE by Roald Dahl.

Some More Wallpapers

We have a computer in the classroom. Instead of a plain wallpaper, I create a creative alternative. Mostly I choose paintings, but sometimes world events or pop culture. Sometimes I get requests from the children for a favourite painting of theirs.

Here are a few examples.

Feel free to steal them and use them yourself.

Baby Shower

Mrs Darby-Michaels on the right is our principal.  She is having a baby girl.  The stag threw a baby shower for her and gave her lots of gifts for when her baby arrives.

Tidy desks

We use class dojo to keep our class tidy.
Here is Jawad's desk. It did not look like this ten minutes earlier :)

Grade 5s graduate to writing in pen!

This is Jawad's first piece of work  written in pen. It was very exciting! Please note that he used his very best handwriting.

Pizza making and hole digging

Jawad saw a photo of a boy making a pizza in his Afrikaans text book and asked me iof he could make a pizza in class. Of course I said yes, what a great opportunity to encourage creativity.
He shared the work and the end project with his Grade 5  classmates.

In other news, our old oak tree was cut into pieces, and the discs of wood have been made into a play area outside.
